Getting Started

1. Download & Install

Download BlindPost from our homepage. On Android, install the APK directly. On macOS, open the DMG and drag BlindPost to your Applications folder.

2. Create Your Identity

When you first open BlindPost, an Ed25519 key pair is generated on your device. This key pair is your identity — no phone number or email required. Make sure to back up your mnemonic phrase in a safe place.

3. Add Contacts

Share your public key QR code with friends, or scan theirs. Once connected, all your messages will be end-to-end encrypted automatically.

Common Issues

I lost my private key / mnemonic phrase

Unfortunately, we cannot recover your private key or account. BlindPost uses a zero-knowledge architecture — we never have access to your private key. If you have a backup mnemonic phrase, you can restore your account. Otherwise, you will need to create a new identity.

Messages are not being delivered

Check your internet connection. BlindPost uses relay servers to deliver encrypted messages. If the issue persists, try restarting the app. If the problem continues, please contact us with details about your device and network environment.

How do I transfer my account to a new device?

Use the backup and restore feature in the app. Go to Settings and create an encrypted backup file (.mca). Transfer this file to your new device and use the restore function with your mnemonic phrase to recover your identity and contacts.

If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly by emailing us directly. Do not disclose security issues publicly until we have had a chance to address them.
